Work With Purpose

I'm Neera Maru, a consultant and public health strategist with 10+ years designing programs and experiences that actually work for the humans inside them. I've led this work across HealthTech, EdTech, and public health: from redesigning patient care engagement at a digital health startup to managing multimillion-dollar state health initiatives. I'm also a Certified End-of-Life Doula — work that sits at the most human edge of what I do, and that informs everything else. If you're navigating a complex challenge where the data and the lived experience don't yet match, that's where I work best.

About Me:

Most organizations don't fail because people aren't working hard enough. They fail because something critical about the human experience, of patients, learners, employees, or communities, isn't being seen clearly.

That's the gap I work in.

With a background spanning public health research, behavior change program design, and HealthTech product strategy, I help organizations understand what's actually happening beneath the surface of their data and build the programs, pathways, and experiences that move people from stuck to supported.

I've spent 10+ years doing this work across healthcare, education, and social impact: designing care experiences that reduce churn while increasing engagement, building learning programs that reach the people they were designed for, and translating complex human behavior into strategies that actually scale.

I hold an MPH from the University of Colorado Denver. I'm also a Certified End-of-Life Doula: work that sits at the most human edge of what I do, and that deepens everything else.

My Approach:
I don't believe in one-size-fits-all solutions, not because it's a nice thing to say, but because I've spent a decade watching generic frameworks fail the specific humans they were designed to serve. Every engagement starts with listening: to the data, to the people inside the system, and to the friction that isn't showing up on any dashboard yet.

I work at the intersection of strategic thinking and human-centered design, which means I can help you understand what's wrong, design what's needed, and build the systems to sustain it.
